Man dead as police find body at major city street

Officers were called to a house at Oxford Road at around 3.25pm on Sunday, March 16.
Several Thames Valley Police cars and ambulances were spotted at the scene while an air ambulance landed nearby at Cowley Marsh Field.

Initially, the force could not locate the incident on their internal logs system but on Tuesday (March 18), officers confirmed that a man had died.
The victim, who was aged in his 40s, was pronounced dead at the scene and while his death is being treated as “unexplained”, it is not being seen as “suspicious”.

A Thames Valley Police spokesperson said: “We were called to a property on Oxford Road, Cowley, at 3.25pm on Sunday (March 16) following reports a man had suffered a medical incident.
“Very sadly, a man aged in his 40s was confirmed deceased at the scene by the ambulance service.

“The man’s next of kin have been made aware and are being supported by officers.
“The thoughts of all of Thames Valley Police are with his family at this very difficult time.
“The man’s death is being treated as unexplained, but not suspicious, and a file will be prepared for the coroner.”
A Thames Valley Air Ambulance spokesperson added: “We can confirm that our helicopter was dispatched to provide advanced critical care at an incident near Cowley Road on Sunday.”
